Melchisedec was without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God (Heb.7:3 below). He was priest of the most high God (Gen.14:18 below). Melchisedec was the King of righteousness, the King of peace (Heb.7:2 below).
Jesus is made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedic (Ps.110:4, Heb.5:6, Heb.6:20, Heb.7:17-20 below).
I believe that Christ was manifested in the flesh and dwelt upon earth as Melchizedek PRIOR TO the Word made flesh who dwelt among us, Jesus, the Son of God.
Gen.14:18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he [was] the priest of the most high God.
Gen.14:19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed [be] Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:
Gen.14:20 And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all (Heb.7:4 below).
Ps.110:4 The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou [art] a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek (Heb.5:6 below).
Heb.5:6 As he saith also in another [place], Thou [art] a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec (Ps.110:4 above)
Heb.6:20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, [even] Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec (Heb.5:6 above).
Heb.7:1 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;
Heb.7:2 To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;
Heb.7:3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.
Heb.7:4 Now consider how great this man [was], unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils (Gen.14:10 above).
Heb.7:17 For he testifieth, Thou [art] a priest for ever (Heb.6:20 above) after the order of Melchisedec.
Heb.7:18 For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.
Heb.7:19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope [did]; by the which we draw nigh unto God.
Heb.7:20 And inasmuch as not without an oath [he was made priest]:
Heb.7:21 (For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou [art] a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:)
Heb.7:22 By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.
